Objectives

Pharma Bureau will act as a single point interface for the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industry for its issues relating to Central Government as well as State Governments. The Bureau will receive the concerns of the Industry in an electronic format and will further coordinate with concerned ministries of the Central Government and State Governments for providing solutions in a time bound manner.

Pharma Bureau in partnership with Invest India will take all measures to facilitate investment, both foreign as well as domestic, in the sector. The Pharma Bureau will help attract investment in the sector through investor outreach programmes, structured communication and dissemination of information.

To act as a think tank and conduct policy research in the sector and give suggestions on various technical and policy issues of the sector to the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

To create a robust database pertaining to the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Industry. The Bureau will coordinate with industry associations and various other stakeholders to create a strong Management Information System for the Department of Pharmaceuticals which will help the industry as well as the Department in effective decision making.
